From soothing digestion to easing some discomforts of the common cold, lemon ginger honey tea is a simple infusion that only takes a few moments to make.
INGREDIENTS
- ¼ cup honey, or to taste
- 1 large lemon, juiced >
- 1 tablespoon finely grated ginger root >
- star anise, cardamom pods (cracked) or cinnamon stick (optional) >
- 3 ½ cups boiling water >
METHOD
In a 4-cup teapot or bodum, add honey, lemon juice, ginger, and spices (if using) and pour boiling water over mixture. Stir gently until the honey is dissolved and allow to steep (covered) for at least 5 minutes—longer for a stronger tea. You can strain the tea as you pour it, but getting bit of grated ginger in your cup is delicious.
