Salty charred green beans light up BBQ season. It's a simple way to prepare an often undervalued vegetable.
INGREDIENTS
- 450 g fresh green beans
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon coarse salt
- Fresh ground black pepper
- Lemon wedges, for serving
METHOD
- Preheat a grill to medium-high heat
- Wash and trim the beans and pat them dry
- In a large bowl, toss the beans with the olive oil, salt, and of fresh ground black pepper (to taste)
- Lay the beans directly on the hot grill and cook for 4 minutes each side or until tender and charred to the degree you prefer
- Take the beans off the grill and sprinkle with a bit more salt
- Serve with lemon wedges
